With this update I've noticed a difference with the camera.  A better difference.  I doesn't seem possible that the update would affect the hardware of the phone, but I've experienced natural coloration and sharper images with the changes.  With the intercepts marco shot with this, it's pretty great.

Or maybe I'm just crazy.   Kiss

I haven't gotten the 2.2 update YET (thanks, again, VM), but I've read that there are some nice improvements to the camera function.

I always thought that it did a pretty decent job before (for a cam with no flash and no zoom), particulary on close-ups and in macro.  Outdoors in bright sunlight that is.  As an available light camera in low-light situations it pretty much sucks.

Thanks to the Intercept camera, I no longer want to get a point and shoot.  This phone camera exceeded my expectations and I love it.  The macro shot was a big surprise.  With the Vignette app and maybe one or two more, I take great shots.  I think hipstamatic shots are way overused these days and I try to avoid that look.

I loved the camera after the update, especially all the color effects you can do with it.  Only thing I don't like about it is the zoom.

Digital zoom is no good in general.  :/  I don't find myself in situations where I would use the zoom.

I haven't used any of the color effects in the camera app, just in Vignette.

Digital Zoom = In Camera Cropping. Just blows up a smaller portion of what the sensor sees. 5mp @2x digital zoom = 2.5mp image...

Do you expeience any kind of lag after using the camera?  My phone locks up for a minute or 2 and sometimes requires a force close.

All digital cameras experience some lag time after taking a picture.  This is primarily disk writing time while writing he file information to disk, or to SD card in the case of the Intercept.   A real dedicated digital cameras has larger amounts of internal ram that holds the file information prior to  its being written to the cameras storage card.  Generaly, the more expensive the digital camera, the more internal ram it has and the faster its operaton.  With the Intercepts miniscule amount of available ram, disk writing time is greatly extended.

Another factor involved in the process, is the actual write speed of the particular SD card in your camera/phone.   SD cards come in different "Classes" with the "Class 2" being the most common, but  "Class 4" and "Class 6" cards are also available.   The higher the class number, the faster the processing speed of the card.   The face of your SD card should be marked with a capital letter "C" with a number inside of it.   This number is the "class" rating of your card.
