I have been struggling getting my intercept to be recognized by my vista HP laptop. I was able to mount my SD in the Intercept after i went to sprits direct website and used there Sprint_M910_Android_USB_Driver_4.50.7. When i tried to install Tether software first with PDANET and then With EasyTether both were uable to allow my PC to recognize my Intercept device. Even if i uninstall the driver and reinstall after completion or switch usb I can't get around this. Both software's have there own USB drives and if i select not to use them they will not install on my pc. It will ask for a disk or to locate the drivers on my PC which still won't work. I have read there are issued with the USB drivers but what is anyone doing that works to allow Tethering. Please Help. Thanks

Also I have tried unmouting and disabling Debugging. Nothing works!!

Okay Update I read an earlier post about people who have same propble with drivers and their samsungs connection to PC via USB. One of the posts suggested that a sprint rep said it was either sd card or cable. After reading that thread i replace just my USB cable and i'm able to connect and tether. Bottom line cheap cables come with your phone so you may or may not have this issue. hopes this helps future users

That was also my issue. Switched my LG Lotus cable for the one that came with my Intercept and it worked perfectly.

Please refer to my post (by EducateAndInnovate) in following thread for USB drivers:

http://www.samsunginterceptforum.com/samsung-intercept-how-to/confirmed-drivers-for-recovery-and-download-mode/

I use Stock USB cable that came with Virgin Mobile USA Samsung Intercept Phone on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Also, I noticed that Cellet retractable USB cable from Accessoryone (Amazon.com) works well on Windows XP.

I had the "USB Device Not Recognized" problem as well. The only way I could get my computer to recognize the Intercept was to disable the USB2 Enhanced host controller. The USB port only functions at USB1.1 speeds, but it works.

To disable your USB2 Enhanced host controller:

1. Disconnect all USB devices from the port you want to use.
2. In Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controller, right mouse click on the USB2 Enhanced host controller and select disable. (If you have more than 1 USB2 enhanced host controller, you will need to figure out which one controls the port you want to use for your Intercept. Try disabling them one at a time)
3. Connect your intercept.

Note: If there is no disable option, you still have a USB device connected to your USB port. They may be connected inside your computer. In that case, you will not be able to disable your USB2 enhanced host controller.

USB2 is supposed to be backwards compatible. Samsung has done something terribly stupid with our phones.  Sad

I've had great luck using the MCCI drivers from Samsung. This seems to be an issue with a lot of Samsung phones (not just our android ones either) that these mcci modem drivers fixes.
