I can't even get my computer to even recognize the device through the usb cable. Is there something I should know?

I know this sounds pretty basic but are you opening the notification area and selecting to "mount" it? First time I connected mine to my PC I forgot to check that and didn't know why my phone wasn't being recognized.

I had (have?) the same problem.  The only way I got it to be recognized was to go into Settings -> Storage and unmount the SD card, and then shutdown and restart the phone (which will remount the SD card).  Once I did this, it came up on the computer and the USB mounting question came up on my phones notification area.  This worked for a few times and has since stopped when connected.  I have to assume I have to do the unmount / remount thing again but I haven't tried it yet.

iwas having these issues, and it turns out that my problem was a defective usb cable (the one that came with the intercept).

i took my intercept to the sprint pcs store and they tried their cable. it worked.

with mine i discovered that i had to hold it a certain way and gently push the plug to one side for it to be recognized.

i think that the usb cables (the microusb male end) are kind of fragile.

be careful with yours!

the good news is that they exchanged my old (defective) usb cable for a new (working) one for free.

cheers,

Sometimes my computer doesn't recognize my Intercept, and the phone itself won't display the "USB connected" message in the notification area, so I can't mount. It still charges though.

Have you made sure you have "USB Debugging" off (unchecked)?

Menu - Settings - Applications - Development - USB Debugging

I had to replace my USB cable because my phone stopped charging altogether, but now I can't get it to connect to my PC at all...

I've gone through about a million different drivers and programs and still no luck. No idea what to do.
