Samsung Intercept - Can't sync Facebook contacts

Hey there!

Samsung Intercept just upgraded to Android 2.1 last night. I downloaded the Facebook app, then went to sync my contacts with my existing contacts. However it didn't work.

I did the following:

1. Downloaded Facebook app
2. Went to Home>Menu>Settings>Accounts and Sync
3. Add Account
4. Facebook

It'll go to the Facebook app, then I login. However, after that..nothing. It doesn't show up in my accounts list. I try adding account again, and it just stays at the current screen.

Thoughts?

This feature does not seem to be enabled for some reason. I had to sync Facebook with Yahoo and then sync Gmail with Yahoo. It was a pain but it works.

Are you trying to get pictures or information from facebook?

If just pictures, try the app 'syncmypix'.

Yeah, I tried too. Facebook is in the list, but when you select it...nothing.

I was really hoping for this to work after seeing my friend sync his facebook on HTC Hero with Android 1.5. I thought that 2.1 was going to get Intercept users in on that feature. Why couldn't Android just copy HTC's programming? Maybe it will be fixed soon. I hope we don't have to wait for the next OS build.

I know about SyncMyPix. Used it with 1.5. It worked great, though I'm a little concerned with having to give my login info to 3rd party apps... I think I'll go change my password right now.

I want to get the rest of the info too. Phone #s, post addresses, & email addresses.

So I understand that the Intercept does not have the Facebook sync to the contacts. Does anyone know of any apps that I can download that work good for syncing my Facebook friends- pics, status, phone numbers, updates, & birthday. If anyone has used anything that works for any & all of these, please share......

Facebook sync in the market works well, but only syncs pics with existing contacts, I believe.
