My phone sure is running slow

mine is as well even after update to 2.2 (manual) actually even slower than before...
any help plz...

I just went to the Sprint store for this problem, and yes, as above, you have to clear out your memory (old texts, tweets, etc). 
The loaded up memory also prevented me from being able to ANSWER a phone call...I'd try to drag the green button across the screen and it wouldn't go...I'd end up having to call people back. Was blaming it on the "permanent" screen protector I'd bought, thinking it was too thick, but it was just that the phone would lag because of all the stuff on it  :P
