Samsung's Intercept has to be, by far, the very worst phone we have ever owned. My wife is very frustrated and is now ready to throw it out the window.

I've done just about every possible thing to optimize and make this thing acceptably stable, but to no avail! I've moved as many apps as possible to the card, I've installed-uninstalled-installed various utilities to save battery, memory and what not.

I'm now ready to root the darn thing. If that does not help, I may have to buy another phone.

By the way, we also have an LG Optimus V, which is superb- not a single issue!

I just had to vent!!!

My personal experience with the Intercept has been a good one.
Having owned and still using mine since late November of 2010,
can tell you that it has been an invaluable device in my personal
as well as professional life.

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties with the device.

If I were to have one major complaint, it would be that the battery
is starting to drain rather quickly now.  The Intercept like most of the
Smart Phones on the market suffers from battery issues, but mine
seems to drop below 50% in little more then 2 hours.

I'll admit that I am using my device quite heavily for internet access
and connecting to personal servers using Telnet Clients and the like.
Besides replacing one of my batteries, I will continue to use my
Intercept until the hardware fails.

Rooting won't fix the stability issues with that phone (rooting does nothing more than give you administrator rights). Adding a custom rom though will probably do wonders. If you're going to ditch the phone anyway, then id recommend rooting and finding a custom rom to install. If you cannot find any up to date info here on these forums, then check androidforums DOT com (this forum screws up the link for that site) for the VM/Sprint Intercept forums as there should be an All Things Root subforum for you to peruse. If you do choose to root and rom the phone, be sure that whoever created the thread/software is actively supporting the thread and updating the software.
