She has had her Intercept for about 2 weeks now and really likes the keyboard and phone in general. There are a couple of issues she is having though and I am looking for help!

One the battery lasts 4 hours with just texting, light email, 30 mins of phone calls and facebook checking. GPS is off and screen is set below 50%. I have read about calibrating the battery and we are starting that now. So this maybe fixed anyways.

Issue to is the BIG one. Her buttons work on a call. Next thing this knows she launches apps and hears sounds running. The person on the other end doesn't. If she launches a game (screen clicks off mind you) she hears the music. This is a deal breaker for her. If it is a defective phone I have no problem going to Sprint and getting a new one but if there is no fix....she is going to want to dump the phone.

She HATED her iPhone because of the touch screen. This phone she only has to lightly use the touch screen but if we can't get the second issue fixed she is done.

This is bad for me because I love my EVO and would love to keep Sprint. I don't know what other Androild phone she could use that has a keyboard other then the Moto Droid.

The battery usage is debated as "fixable". I get near 30 hours of battery with minimal phone, text and email usage. When I use the device as I typically would, I get between 8.5 - 11 hours. This is even with wifi, game (Air Attack) and my incessant fits of flashing etc.

I would recommend you getting familiar with the forum and researching on the benefits of Rooting your device. There is not much work put into getting this accomplished. Have a look around on the forums using the Search box with Root, Battery performance and the like.

About the screen/button/app launching issue, are the games and such launching with the screen being off?
Many times when people are talking on the phone we tend to inadvertently ignore the light sensor on the device and thus causing the screen to come on while during a call. When this happens, whatever your face contacts on the screen will be launched. Then if you move your face again and the sensor detects the loss of light and/or persons face, it will shut off again. Yet, the launched apps and such will continue to run.

I personally have pretty much mastered a way of talking on the phone comfortably without tripping the sensor very often. If the apps and issues are still present after considering the above, I'd suggest checking into a replacement device. Cheers!

Just an update and and thanks to Amexus.

I reflashed her phone last night from the installer on Samsungs site and followed the instructions to a T. Including charging the battery 100% which I didn't do the first time because I thought maybe it was just a safe guard. Finished flashing at 7 and streamed Pandora and Sprint TV until almost 12 and was not even at 50% yet. My wife is letting it drain 100% today then charge it back up...seems the battery is doing better.

Now the screen issue I also figured out. If you hit the volume keys when in a call the screen relights and since the sensor is now activated it won't re click off. So she is pulling the phone away and hitting the volume keys then returning the phone to her ear. This seemed to have solved that.

Thanks for everyone that read this and thought about it.

I may root her phone later but if it is working stock..then good stuff. My EVO is rooted. :)
