Is there something I'm missing? I'm on my second BRAND NEW 32gb microsdhc card for my intercept. Both times I insert them and format them then connect to my pc and xfer the files from my old card which I copied to my pc. No problem. Then I go to xfer 7gigs of music and somewhere half way through, it will not copy anymore, then the disk disappears from the pc, the phone locks up and the card will no longer be recognized AT ALL!!  I have no choice but to shut the phone down improperly because nothing will respond.

The first card would work, but then every now and then it wouldn't. I would start up my phone and would get the dreaded "SD card invalid" error. I forget exactly what it sez, but basically wants me to format again. I would do it, but it would do it again later down the road, therefore causing me to xfer files to it again over and over.

My first card was Kingston and this second one is a Sandisk.

What is the problem????? My 2gig card works flawlessly.

I have to ask, but did you get those cards from a "real" store, or a reputable online store?

I have had many issues with high capacity cards (which I will admit were dirt cheap) from e-bay that upon testing were "over-ranked". Basically, the card reports that it has say 8gb capacity, but is really only a 4gb card. It was all good until I started to copy more than what the "true" capacity of the card was, at which point it starts to corrupt the older data. I know you mentioned that one was a sandisk, and the other was a kingston, but were they REALLY cards from those brands, as there are a lot of fakes online.

If you did get them from a reputable store, there should be no reason for it not to read, especially if the phone was able detect and format the whole capacity.

You may be on to something. Yes, they were cheap on ebay. 18 and 25 bucks respectively. So it would appear that maybe they are 8gb cuz it seemed to crash somewhere between 7 and 8 when copying music files over. And now they are useless as they won't even format or be recognized in my computer, phone, printer, etc. Just dead.

And upon further investigation into some forums, it seems there is a lot of this going on. Looks like I'm going to chalk this one up as lesson learned! :(
