I know there are lots of posts out there about this, but none of them have helped me solve my problem. My problem is the download mode...where the bottom left says "Detect Port..." and the bottom right says "Disconnected"

I am currently using another computer that won't let the flash work...although my own computer does work...idk why this one does not.

I've done everything from reinstalling drivers to uninstalling and reinstalling Sprint's Update tool like 12 times...I've moved the USB to all of the different sockets in the computer...and still the computer says "Detect Port..." My last resort is a factory reset on the computer, which I'm not doing because this computer does not belong to me, and it's stupid to erase it over a phone flash anyway.

Any other alternatives? Or should I just try different computers when others don't work?

I had this same problem on all of the computers I own, MINUS one.
If your computers have an internal hub that supplies the USB connectors it will not work.
This is seen on MANY laptops and on some Desktop systems.

I was lucky in that my Lenovo Laptop is not the same. I can do everything on the laptop, but not my other 2 laptops or my 3 desktop systems.

I would try other systems until it works.
