Well I was getting awesome battery life on DD10 with setCPU running.  Around 20 hours.  Now that I did the upgrade I have went from full charge to 70% in 3 hours with moderate use.  Not horrible but still pretty bad.  I have disabled setCPU because it was causing some scrolling lag.  The phone is snappy but idk about the battery life.

I took my phone of my chager at 8am and have been using 3g nonstop since 9am.  It's 3:00pm now and I'm at 30%. No setcpu, no auto memory manager, used advance task killer at boot.  I'm running live wallpapers (starfield) and the following widgets: weather channel, facebook, s2 calendar, cal widget, word of the day, and retro clock.  Background data disabled, gps and wifi off, moxier set to poll every 30 minutes, other email set to poll every hour. Brightness was at 50% until 1pm when I turned it all the way down.  In my opinion, this is absolutely awesome.

I'm getting about twice as much time out of a charge than I did on 1.5. Moxier mail is completely uninstalled, I have live wallpapers on (cyclo), GPS and wifi off, Weather widget is set up to poll every 3 hours, cool gator mod, and task manager is set up to autokill all but the weather widget, alarm, and batteryminder. IDK what my Gmail is set to poll at, but its probably whatever the default is.

Well I am giving it a second chance after charging on the USB cord all night then reconnecting the charger for a true 100% charge.  It's been off for 3 hours now and is down to 80%.  I've only made 1 very short call, sent a few texts, checked a couple emails and browse the web for about 5 minutes.  It's better but I'm still not impressed with it and I doubt I ever will be.  Where is that extended battery, Samsung?

That doesn't sound right at all... bad flash maybe?  You might want to try reflashing.

On my 2nd flash after gmail not syncing correctly.  It is working fine now.  My battery life blows was fully charged before bed and is now yellow after a few emails and maybe 10 mins web surfing.  I have anything not needed turned off i.e GPS, BT, etc.  Heavy use it will last maybe5-7 hrs.  Running task killer now will need another full charge to see if it helps

I been off the charger now for about 8 hours and I'm down to 40%.  The battery meter is still pretty inaccurate IMHO.  It stayed at 70% longer then 60 or 50.  I been using the phone as normal, made a couple short calls and some texts, a little facebook and dolphin browser HD for a few.  No heavy 3g usage.  I'm scared to turn on wifi...lol

It's also possible that your launcher (providing it isn't stock) can be devouring CPU.   But 40% after 8 hours is pretty darn good, I'd say.  Then again I wasn't getting anywhere near that on dd10 even with setCPU.

Well I turned on wifi for the hell of it and downloaded some apps from the market. Called my girlfriend on her break, surfed the web for about 20 mins, tried out a couple games for a minute(droid mini golf sucks btw) and I'm down to 15%.  Weirdly, it jumped from 40% to 30% then 15% and it's been there for a couple hours.  I think the meter code still needs some work.

I haven't really sat down and looked at it, but it does appear that 2.1 is giving a better battery life.

When I get back to work I'll know for sure.  Moderate phone use, a little internet, texting, maybe a couple of games and I was down to about 30% at the end of my shift.  So we'll see tomorrow.

I wish all these posts about the battery jumping to a 80% charge after very mild use people would realize that no mater how accurate the software is at reading the battery percentage, that is not why yours goes to a 90% faster than to 50% or some variation there of. It has to do with your battery. Every battery though the same could have cells in it that are better or worse than others causing it to drop faster or stay longer on a specific percentage. It could still be partially software but PLEASE STOP BLAMING THE SOFTWARE WHEN THAT'S PROBABLY NOT THE CAUSE.

I cant speak for anyone else but im getting awesome battery life! I pulled the phone off the charger at 7:00pm last night, its 1:00pm the next day and I still have 70% battery left, thats 18 hours! Granted i am running setcpu and have all the usual settings turned off and have only used my phone for about 1 hour total But hey that wasn't possible on Cupcake.

On a side note, the stock battery gauge sucks, Imo the best battery widget is Batterylife by Curvefish tells everything about the batt. :P

I would expect to get awesome life if I only used the phone for 1 hour a day!  Batterylife by Curvefish is a great battery widget.  The only thing I wish I had a status bar notification like another one I've used.
