Strike 3 Yer Out! Samsung Intercept/Bluetooth Voice Activated Dialing Still Not Working

Following history of issues with VAD;
S:M900.8.0S.CJ05 Initial 11/01/2009 ---->BT device call control button didn't activate SPH-M900 Voice Control. Use Intercept's "Speech to Action Button" instead. My NiteIze holster does not provide access to this button. Poor BT implementation IMHO.

S:M900.8.0S.CL14 Cupcake 01/15/2010 ---->BT device activates Nuance, but BT would not auto-connect.  I manually connected whenever re-entering range, re-starting phone/BT, etc...). A step in the right direction, but still a pain-in-the-butt BT implementation.

S:M900.8.OS.DE03 Eclair  05/14/2010 ---->BT device activates Nuance, BT auto-connects, Nuance shuts down unexpectedly. BT not functional at all.

This problem seems to be isolated to contacts added prior to 2.1 upgrade.

I added a new contact, and was able to VAD the new number. BT seems to be working fine for contacts added post-2.1 upgrade.

To test this idea, I deleted a contact existing prior to 2.1 upgrade, and then re-added the contact. Before re-adding, VAD to this contact would crash when Voice Control got to the point where the number would dial. In other words I was able activate VAD, say "CALL", say "Contact Name", and at this point Voice Control would crash. Now it is VAD working for this re-added contact.

I'll have to test other pre-2.1 contacts to verify. This may mean I have to re-enter all all contacts otherwise VAD may not work for them?!

Anyone seen anything like this?

Maybe I should not have done the upgrade myself, and taken the phone to Sprint. The upgrade process was easy, and the process didn't take long or raise any errors.

Maybe the instructions omitted synching contacts?

I think most people here probably did the update themselves. Could you follow some of the advice in other threads and create a .csv file with your contacts? If you could, then I would try that, kill all your contacts at the actual gmail site, and then add them back with the file. Whatever bit of binary that's screwing things up might not copy over. just a thought.
