I've had the Intercept for about a week now, and loving it.

I've used the GPS for a couple different applications (google maps/navigation, a golf gps app, and an app called gps status), and I notice that they show my location is accurate to within 33 yards.

I've seen some apps demos mentioning that gps is accurate to 2 to 3 yards or so. But mine never budges to less than 33 yards (outside, clear skies, no obstructions, different locations around the county, giving the gps several minutes to locate me).

Is there some setting that needs to be adjusted, or is the "accuracy" just dependent on the type of gps receiver in the Intercept (as opposed to some other smart phone)?

I did a search on this forum, and didn't see this question, so I'd appreciate any insight someone may have. Thanks!

I've never seen mine report better than 33yrds either. However, using Maps (with satellite image) in my yard, It's got me within maybe 10yrds (on front steps, blue dot on my front steps in the image). I read somewhere a while ago, that 3 meters is about as accurate as the GPS sats will allow, so a device reporting within that range is probably being a little too optimistic about it's accuracy.

I am unsure what has changed because I remember when mine would say that,  Now my Error Rate gets down to 12-16 Feet and that is inside using https://market.android.com/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2

Mine does rather well and always gets me within about 10 feet.

Sometimes that GPS can be way off. A friend of mine goes fishing during the summer with my x-husband, and the GPS reports to his wife that he's clear across town and not at the lake lol. Funny, but not.  Grin
