I live in the woods and 3G service varies.

The noise that is made for the 3G being active/none active is very annoying. In my house I have to hear this noise every minute depending where I am in the house.

How do I disable this noise?

Thanks

I would imagine the only way to silence that would be to root the phone. Perhaps you can put the phone in Airplane mode until you are ready to use it.

Thanks. I'll do the airplane mode until I learn more about the phone.

I don't think there is a tone for 3g because my phone goes in and out of 3g all the time and I hear nothing.  I'm pretty sure that tone you're hearing is your actual reception going in and out.  I get that all the time when I'm out in the boonies.

If you want you can test that by turning 3g off by going to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > uncheck 3g data

Your absolutely right. I tried it yesterday and it is the noise of the regular cell reception.
