I missed almost all my calls since I got this phone in Dec., even though my ringer volume is set at max, because the slightest jiggle at the side button turns off my ringer. Is there a way to take the side button out of the ringer set up? Program, say, the the hang-up button the silence the ringer? I would really appreciate help. The bright side is that I use a fraction of my minutes... Cry

Instead of defacing your phone, why not get it a case? (Covers are different than cases.) They make some really nice ones! Check the link below.... I'm sure you can find some at other places, too. Like Amazon.

I have a case, no good.
The side button is very sensitive, just moving the phone will silence the ringer.

I drop mine in my "mommy-purse", so it gets jiggled about quite a bit. Mine doesn't do what you describe. If it were me I would return the phone for a new one as I don't think the button is working as intended.  Sad

This is my 2nd phone already, I don't think they are going to give me a 3rd. I even found a volume lock app, but is was no help either. I don't think it is the phone at this point, I think it is the programming. That is why I am asking: how do I change the code that mutes the ringer?

Ah, I see. Unfortunately I don't know a thing about programming the Android OS (it's Linux based if I remember correctly). You might want to try the XDA forums for this.  Wink
