Issues after root / please assist

Hello all. New here as I am new to the intercept. I bought one of these for the girlfriend for Xmas, and we both love it. So far all I have done is root. All seemed to be fine, even faster actually, especially screen oritation and menus. Now a few hours after it is now extreamly slow showing icons after the scene has changed orientation. It does switch fairly quick, but the screen just shows the wallpaper. Then after a good long wait they show up. This happens keyboard in out. Keyboard in, it has the same symptoms as well as issues with orientation delay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As I hate seeing someone be so happy just to have normal operation have issues.
