Android 2.1 release scheduled for 3/31

Googlemaps has streetview on 1.5.  Long Press on screen around address, and a address marker shows.  Press that and a menu pop up with streetview as option.

it is useful if you're unfamiliar with an area.....POI are easier to find than a street sign

They are more likely talking about the GSM Hero for Europe.  They will get  the Legend way before the US does.  This will unlikely affect Samsungs update anyhow as they have no reason to hold ours back.  AND I dont think Sprint could handle the arse chewing from the already angry mobs of their customers demanding the update yestarday.

The news comes by way of a leaked internal document and while most of it was impossible to read, we can share the important parts below.

“Let your customers know we are actively working on having the Android 2.1 platform available to our Hero and Intercept customers over the coming weeks.”
“Look for more information coming in April about Android 2.1 platform for Hero and Intercept.”
There you have it, the official note from Sprint, of course the keywords in those above statements seem to be “coming soon” and “April.” On the positive side, April is coming soon, just about 10 days away now.
