That would be awesome to be able to customize the color of the notification bar. It's like a panel in desktop Linux distros.... and since Android is Linux-based we should have that option.

It would be cool to be able to choose the color and transparency. Maybe even choose a background pattern or something.

im not sure how this can be done.  i tried placing a transparent bar but what happened is that the bar sits on a black background.  so even if it is transparent, that bar has to be removed.

Hi, I have Calkulin's_intercept_2.1_ROM_v1.5.1.zip and it has a black transparent notification bar. I downloaded it off of SDX-Developers website. If there is a way that I can just send it to you, tell me how and I will.

Hey, sorry for the delay. First of all your phone has to be rooted. Just go to the "sdx-developers" website and on the right click on the picture of the Intercept. After that type "calkulin's roms" into the search that is located right under where you clicked on the pic of the intercept. Several links will show up under that. Click on the one that says "'Calkulin's 2.1 DE03 ROM. It is there where you will see what programs are included/not included on the rom. Plus like you wanted the notification bar is black and transparent. After the download put the zip file on your sd card and reboot your phone in recovery mode (vol down, talk, end). Then install the zip file from the sd card and reboot phone. Hope that helps.

you need root access. go to SDX developers site and look up the classic noir theme (in the downloads section). its an older theme but that will do it. There are some ROMs that incorporate the Noir theme. I believe psychohazard has a custom ROM out now called Hazardous Eclair 2.0 that has the Noir theme imbedded.
