I got Handcent to load a custom font pack I made a few weeks ago. I was upset at first because it wasn't working for anything but I searched for installed font packs with Handcent and it found it last night. I guess I was looking at installed font packs and never saw mine, but then searched for font packs on my phone and it actually found it. I just assumed I did something wrong and I wasn't going to figure it out.

I used a font I created of a language I invented. See the screenshots of my Handcent list. Now even if someone goes through my phone and tries to read my texts, they won't be able to. Unless they went through another messaging app.... but I could see if I could change the font for those too. If not I don't really care, it's just for fun anyway. It looks really awesome and I was excited to be able to use my own font on my phone.

(2).jpg - Is the most current font for my language.

(3).jpg - Is the old version I used to use but decided to change it because all the straight lines were kind of time-consuming to write out and make sure everything is straight.

So I'm going to play around with it some more and see if I can remember everything I did the first time.... if so.... I guess I can make custom font packs now.... which would be awesome hahaha I'll let you all know how it goes. In case anyone wants to get their favorite fonts on their phone.

Haha nah, I'd just delete the message if I was.

So I tried out a few more and I think I've gotten it down well enough.

I've attached a simple font pack I made with a bunch alien-looking fonts. Mainly just for fun and to try it out. Unless you actually take the time to learn them there's not really any point in using them. I just wanted to see if I could make a font pack really quick (I decided to make an icon too) and put a lot of fonts in it.

I've only tried them out with Handcent so far and here's how you use it:

1) Download the APK file
2) Transfer it to your SD Card
3) Use an app like "AppInstaller" to install it from your card
4) Open Handcent
5) Go to Menu > Settings > Custom Style
6) Tap "Scan external font packages".
---It will scan for all installed font packages. When it's done:
7) Go to "Conversation List Settings" and "Bubble Settings" to change fonts.
8 ) Choose the installed font package under "Package"
9) Choose a font from within that package under "Font"
10) Eat some hot pockets.

....I was thinking of starting a "Custom Font Pack" thread and taking requests. Making font packs for anyone who wants a specific font on their phone. What do you think?

I've only really tried it with Handcent and Better Keyboard so far.

Handcent is what I've been using the font packs for to change fonts.

Better Keyboard doesn't allow it :/
