I just bought a new sd card 4gb and just had my phone updated at the sprint store to the newest version. When I first bought the phone, I was able to download about 200 songs onto the phone. From what I remember I simply connected the usb to my computer and opened up windows medica player and transferred away. I can now not do this. I have unmounted, mounted, formatted. I have tried everything i can think of. Under devices and printers it shows the samsung android as being a properly working device. how do i get windows mediia player to acknowledge removable drive j. it just has a message that reads connect a device. how please tell me how do i connect a device to windows media player??? thank you 1000 times

Go to Menu>Settings>Applications>Development, and verify USB Debugging is UN-checked...?

Also, make sure you're using a samsung certified usb cable.  I've used other cables and they do not work.  If that's not the case, and you've toy'd with debugging...uninstall samsung drivers on pc...restart the computer then plug it in.

thanks guys for the info. i made sure the dubugging option is not checked. i uninstalled the sd card driver under devices. when i restarted the computer a message came up saying insert a disc into removable drive j. wtf are they talking about. isnt the fact that the phone is hooked to the computer via usb and the phone contains a 4gb sd card mean that it should not be asking me to insert anything. any advice. thanks.

You're not getting the option "USB Connectd" under Notifications on the phone itself? Usually you'll get the "insert a disk" message when the computer recognizes the phone as a drive, but the phone hasn't given up control of the sd card. By clicking on the notification, the phone gives up control of the card and computer can then manipulate it.
