I have made a bunch of ring tone using ringdroid, but now I can not find them, I saved them as ring tones but when I try to apply them, they are not on my list of tones, what did I do wrong?

make sure they are there first.....either mount the usb to your pc and browse the sd card.....or use a file viewer on the phone......you are looking for media/audio/ringtones

I did what someone said, made the media/audio/ringtone and notification folders, I saw the ringtones I made in the ringtone folder, but I still can not use them, is there a way to edit the preloaded tones?

Just install Rings Extended by Dianne Hackborn and it will let you pick from whatever ringtone app you want to use, such as Ringdroid, Zedge, or the default Android system.  After install, you won't see it until you try to pick a ringtone, then it will pop-up and ask you from which app you want to pick your ringtone from.

With this app, you don't have to move any ringtones around or create new folders because it recognizes what you have installed and where they are located.

plug your phone into usb cable to your computer.  Mount the phone.  A folder usually pulls up.  In that folder look for the one marked "media".  Open it.  In the "Media" folder create a new folder named "audio".  Now open the "audio" folder.  Now here is the final steps do exactly like this.   Create 3 folders

"alarms"
"notifications"
"ringtones"

make sure you dont leave of the "s"

Now put your ringtones in those folders.  Unmount the phone and maybe even restart it.

Now when you go to set the tones on your phone you should see you new tones that you put in those folders.  Same goes for seting notifications and alarms.

quick question...right now I dont have a USB cord but I do have an SD card reader. is this folder structure strictly on the SD card or does it need to be in the phone as stated? I was under the assumption it was on the card. thanks.

Ringtones, music, pictures, etc are stored on the SD Card.

With my Samsung Moment and my wife's Intercept I just put everything directly into the appropriate folders on our SD cards.

In the root (main directory) of the SD card create a folder called "media" (if it doesn't already exist)
Inside the media folder create an "audio" folder (if it doesn't already exist)
Inside the audio folder create "alarms" "music" "notifications" and "ringtones" (if they don't already exist)

Drag your MP3's or OGG's into these folders depending on what you want to use it for.

With the new arrival of mobile phones in the market customer can get the advantage  of high speed applications and a great quality with the MP4.
Ring tones are  very popular because of its different sound effect

Hi stumbled into the this post looking to figure out what folder the ringtones went in and just wanted to say if it is not working make sure you Capitolize the First letter of your directories as that worked perfectly for me... Media/Audio/Ringtones if that don't work for you then maybe it only works if you use handcent or mixing though not sure but it shows up in my system folder so thanks for the folder names!!!
