Save some battery

Just something i figured out..ive had my intercept for about a week n running on a 4xxxx prl with 3g turned off...service was good..battery life SUCKED...i mean suck like i take a nap with it at least 50% charged n wake up n its flashing red...well today, i switched phone to 32100 prl..and its 9pm, and ive used my phone all day to talk and text n play sum angry birds n live poker over wifi, and its still at 80%..so maybe changing to the best prl for ur area will help save some battery..has for me so far

In general, when phone data connection is on, the phone constantly tries to connect to the internet. An internet connection and data transfer requires power and that's why your battery drains out.

Make sure the phone doesn't have any apps runnings that automatically connect to the internet or close your mobile browser. That should save some battery power.

Save power and extend battery life by turning off Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth when not in use. You can also reduce screen brightness and set shorter screen and keyboard timeout options to further reduce battery drain.


To view and change these settings:

Open the Applications tab
Tap the Settings Widget
Choose the settings you want to manage:
Wireless & Networks to manage Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Location & Security to disable GPS
Sound & Display to manage brightness and timeout settings


Also, turn off the Auto Sync for G-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Corporate e-mail, etc.

Also reduce the time on screen timeout and keyboard timeout. Anything less than 30 seconds is desirable.

Use Android Assistant App to check which App uses how much battery and accordingly change the usage.

Also, running streaming music, music player, web browsing for longer periods, running youtube for significantly loner periods consumes a lot of battery. Camera App is also a battery hogger.

Go launcher Ex App allows you to see what Apps are running and close them gracefully.

Because of the Android platform, the SPH-M910 (Intercept) is a very data-centric device. As such, battery life can suffer with multiple applications and processes running silmultaneously. There are a few tips and tricks to maximize battery life:

Turn Wi-Fi off when out of range of any available Wi-Fi network
Turn Bluetooth off if not being used
Turn off data and voice call roaming
Keep ringer volume at a low to moderate level
Turn off Audible Touch Tones when using the Dialer's dial pad
Turn off Audible Selection (when making screen selections)
Turn off Window Animations
Keep screen brightness at low to moderate level
Set Screen Timeout setting to 30 seconds (lowest)
Turn off Auto-Sync for Google applications
Force Stop any applications that are not being used
