I've been having tons of issues with the phone freezing, shutting off randomly, not turning on, etc.  I was about to just give up and buy a new phone but then I started researching and someone on another board recommended installing Go Launcher Ex and using it instead of the default launcher.  I did that, and the difference is amazing.  There are NO lag issues anymore, and my phone launches programs quickly.  No more missed calls because of lag time.  I LOVE it!

So if you're having issues with this, you might want to try it!

I have most, if not all, of the Go apps and really love them! They all work so seamlessly together, and I really think it further helps me to enjoy my phone a lot more.  Wink

I agree!! I also use all the GO Apps and have to admit all the apps runs so much smoother and in sync which causes no lags or having to restart the PC as well.....loving the the new Go sms pro app that just came out!!

Oh Yeah!

I am also using Go Launcher Ex from the first day itself on my Samsung Intercept.

I also make sure that I do not install too many Apps/Games. I always keep at least 50 MB free on my phone. I use Android Assistant App to monitor CPU/Memory use (along with other 11 functions) for Quick Boost / Auto Boost (use ignore list).

As always keep battery always charged and carry your wall / car charger always with you. Use all battery saving tips. The phone is great with good amount of free memory, more than 80% battery power and good 3G connection.

Senior user Tokenpoke at SamsungInterceptForum wrote a very good article on Go Launcher Ex features. Here is the link:

There are also a lot of hands on video reviews available in YouTube for Go Launcher Ex.

I too recently loaded Go Launcher EX and it loads the widgets/ screen icons much faster. Wish I had  it with Android 2.1  but I do notice that after running a few days it seems to screw up and lock up the phone. I'm not exactly sure its Go Launcher doing this, so I've switched back to the standard launcher, with Go Launcher still on my phone but not used so I can switch back if I find my problem is caused by another app. I do like the mention above about using Android assistant app and keeping the memory higher.  Thanks for the suggestion.

It might be Go Launcher.. if you follow their blog there is a post there where they are offering a beta version that supposedly fixes some issues. However, i don't recommend running the beta version unless you are aware that it can be buggy and that you have to report bugs. I'm currently running it and not having many issues.... we'll see how the release version holds up when they push it to the Market.
