Last night I updated my phone as prompted by the message that kept coming up on the screen.  I followed all the directions.  The phone had never been rooted or messed with. The update seems to have taken and everything is working except anything google related.  I have the triangle/exclamation mark in the bar at the top and when I try to enter my google password in the box, i get "you have entered the wrong password or your account has changed" message.  I get the same thing when trying to go into the android market or gmail talk.  In settings-account and account sync settings, it shows a sync error next to my gmail account.  VM customer service gave me the instructions to reprogram the phone, but the number they had me enter for the MDN and MSID were what I already had so it didn't help.  I have tried powering it off, removing the battery, the card, etc.  Nothing helps. The google password is correct and I am able to access my google stuff from multiple computers, just not the phone.  THanks for any help.

Same here. I welcome help to aid me to also get back my contacts and call log, voice sms input and the speaker phone function, because I can't really rear the caller. Or to uninstall the system update.

I figured my issue out.  I had signed up for google's "application specific passwords" a few months ago when I suspected that my gmail account had gotten hacked into.  So the password to log into google on my droid is not my regular password that I use to sign into google/gmail on my PC.  From my PC, google generates a one time password, specific to each device (android phone in my case).  I entered that password when it asked for my gmail password and everything worked.

Thanks, my problem was also related to a security issue, being that I had unlisted my phone from Google Dashboard because of telemarketers finding my through Google big time. I certainly will not use the Fb app again for that reason. An iPhone friend of mine helped me with the incoming call volume/speaker phone issue. The problem was that it is only adjustable while in a call is in progress, through the menu now, and that you have to be in the call for quite a while for that menu to start responding. No more quick speaker phone, In 2.2.2 notifications are all haywire still, and I haven't managed to answer a call yet, because the new screen-unlock is so clumsy and slow. But hopefully it will be fine-tuned. Maybe someone will write an app for a better screen lock, just like I thank the folk off Shush for solving my problem off the ringer always getting muted, by giving me a mute alarm and turning it back on.
